A woman was fatally injured when struck by a drunken driver on Girard Place near Fillmore Avenue about 4:30 p.m. The victim died in Erie County Medical Center. The victim, described only as in her mid-40s, was sitting in a community garden when hit by a car backing up, a witness told WGRZ-TV, Channel 2. The driver, a 54-year-old man, was charged with vehicular manslaughter and driving while intoxicated, police said. Sunday, Buffalo Police said.
