Man in his sixties critically injured, transported to hospital, after he is struck by a car, at the intersection of Soundview and Story Avenues in the Bronx, driven by a man fleeing the scene of an accident.

A man in his sixties was critically injured in a hit and run accident Thursday in the Soundview section of the Bronx. The accident happened at 3:30 pm at the intersection of Soundview and Story Avenues. Witnesses say the driver got into an initial accident with another vehicle in the parking lot of the Western Beef restaurant on Rosedale Ave and then fled that scene. In the process, he struck the male pedestrian. The driver was taken into custody about a block away from the accident scene. Charges against him are pending. The victim was taken to Jacobi Medical Center where he's listed in critical condition.
