3 Dead in Cross Bronx Expressway Crash; Delays Reach 2 Hours at George Washington Bridge

Police said two tractor-trailers, a sedan and a pickup truck were involved in the 5:45 a.m. crash on the eastbound side of the highway at Webster Avenue.

Multi-vehicle collision on Cross Bronx Expressway kills 3, injures 5

Two additional passengers in the pick-up truck and the drivers of the Toyota and tractor trailers were all hospitalized and are now in stable condition, police said. The five injured victims went to St. Barnabas Hospital and Bronx-Lebanon Hospital.

 

3 Dead, 3 Badly Hurt in Chain-Reaction Crash on Cross Bronx Expressway

Police said a tractor-trailer on the eastbound side of the highway stopped fairly abruptly near Webster Avenue around 5:45 a.m. because of traffic ahead. A pickup truck behind the 18-wheeler also stopped, but another tractor-trailer behind the pickup couldn't stop in time and caused a chain-reaction collision.
