An elderly woman crossing the street and a biker were both killed in a crash Saturday night in Queens. The accident occurred on Queens Boulevard and 58th Street in Woodside just before 5 p.m. Eyewitnesses say they saw motorcycles speeding just before one bike crashed into a 78-year-old woman who was walking north on 58th Street. The impact of the collision sent the driver, 31-year-old Darien Baker, and the woman flying in two different directions. The pedestrian and the driver were taken to Elmhurst Hospital, where they both died. The motorcycle was part of a group of 20 other motorcycles that were racing near the intersection. Residents say they are tired of bikers using Queens Boulevard as a drag strip. After the accident, two other cyclists stopped, while others raced away from the scene. The name of the victim has not yet been released.
