Crane Collapse Closes Tappan Zee Bridge Indefinitely

Authorities said that the span will be closed indefinitely as crews work to clean up the wreckage. State police said that the barricades on either side will be lifted so drivers can do U-turns and travel to the nearest exits.

The accident occurred between milepost 13.1 and 16.2 on I-87, according to the New York Thruway Authority.

Crane Collapses onto New York Bridge, Injures Five

State police said that at least one car was hit by debris sparking a small wreck. Three drivers were hurt, along with two workers, though none of the injuries were believed to be serious.
