Victor Cinelli was riding a 1989 Honda motorcycle westbound on Portion Road at 7:40 p.m., police said, when he was struck by a 1997 Toyota Avalon. The driver was attempting to make a left turn onto Holbrook Road when his car crashed into Cinelli’s motorcycle, according to police. Cinelli was transported to Stony Brook University Hospital, where he was pronounced dead. The 58-year-old driver of the Toyota was hospitalized with neck and back injuries, police reported.
