Manhattan man, 76, hit by two vehicles dies in hospital.

Antonio Escanio was struck by two vehicles — first by a Toyota SUV and then a Chevy Malibu — while crossing Amsterdam Ave. near his apartment inside the Dunwell Plaza senior home.
A 76-year-old man was fatally hit by two vehicles as he crossed a Washington Heights street Friday evening, cops said. Antonio Escanio was crossing Amsterdam Ave. near his apartment inside the Dunwell Plaza senior home at 1920 Amsterdam Ave. at 5:51 p.m. when he was struck by a white 2009 Toyota SUV traveling south on Amsterdam. The impact sent Escanio into the northbound lane, where a 2012 Chevy Malibu hit him. He was rushed to Columbia Presbyterian Medical Center, where he died. Both drivers stayed at scene.
