2 Motorcyclists Killed After Fall From Gowanus Expressway: NYPD

Both Chevere and Otero had apparent body trauma and were pronounced dead at the scene.
30-year-old Jose Chevere and 24-year-old Jalissa Otero, both of Brooklyn, died early Thursday after crashing their motorcycle into a concrete barrier and falling off the elevated expressway onto the street 36 feet below. The accident occured around 2:00 a.m. on Gowanus Expressway when Chevere, the driver, failed to negotiate a curve near 17th Street and Third Avenue in Red Hook, New York. Both people died at the scene.
