A man from New York spent allost most 18 years behind bars on a charge that he murdered his wife, only to have those charges dropped, has now died in a car crash. John Grega lost control of his van on Oaklake Lane in Lake Ronkonkoma Friday and struck a tree. Grega was convicted in 1995 of raping and killing his wife in Dover, Vermont, where the two were vacationing. The 52-year-old was released in 2012 after DNA from an unknown man was found in his wife's body. The investigation into this case continues.
