Two drivers were killed in a two-vehicle wreck on the Southern State Parkway on Long Island Friday afternoon.
One person was pronounced dead at the scene. The second was airlifted to Stony Brook University Hospital and pronounced dead there.
The victims have been identified as a 39-year-old male from Brentwood, N.Y., and 25-year-old man from Smithtown. Their names have not been released.
The cause of the wreck is under investigation. The westbound Southern State closed between exits 40 and 39 around 4 p.m. and reopened around 9:45 p.m
