According to Livingston County Sheriff Thomas Dougherty, both the van and white car were driving north on Rt. 36. A red car, which was driving south, collided with the vehicle and crashed head-on into the van.
The van spun around and hit the white car behind it.
The driver of the red car, a woman from Livingston County in her 60s, was killed.

According to the Livingston County Sheriff's Office, a commercial passenger van operated by 26-year-old Lin Hou of Flushing, New York was traveling southbound and crossed into the northbound lane, hitting a red car head-on. A white SUV traveling behind the red car then rear-ended it.

Deputies say the driver of the van is in guarded condition at a Rochester hospital after suffering serious injuries, including a broken femur, lumbar, and several ribs. Deputies say everyone else in the van suffered various injuries from broken bones to contusions.
