Firefighters in Charlotte have cleared a vehicle crash that all but closed access to Interstate 77 southbound from Interstate 85 southbound Tuesday morning.

Firefighters in Charlotte have cleared a vehicle crash that all but closed access to Interstate 77 southbound from Interstate 85 southbound Tuesday morning.

The incident was reported at 6:59 a.m. at milemarker 38. That's the ramp from I-85 to I-77 southbound. The left lane of the ramp is closed.

The accident was cleared from the roadway by 8 a.m., according to NCDOT.

Medic transported one patient with potentially life threatening injuries.

The Adams County Sheriff's Office says one man is dead following a car crash Friday morning on U.S. 24 near Fowler.
Sheriff Brent Fischer says Jerry L. Robbins, 66, of Fowler, Illinois, was eastbound when he crossed the center line and struck an oncoming vehicle driven by Bryan W. Dralle, 51, of Coatsburg.

Fischer says Robbins crossed the center line to avoid two cars parked on the side of the road. Dralle's car rolled to the north side of the ride and struck one of those vehicles, driven by Christopher J. Gandara.

A 20-year-old pregnant woman from Pennsylvania was hospitalized following a three-car crash Sunday afternoon.

Jenna Robbins, of Ellsworth, 26 weeks pregnant, was in stable condition following the chain reaction crash on Milan Road near the Sonic Drive-In, Perkins Township, police said. She was treated at the hospital as a precautionary measure, police said, not for any serious injuries.

21 year old Hope Wheeler was heading east on JL Thomas Road when she drove across a railroad crossing. Police claimed she didn't see a CSX train coming. That train hit Wheeler's car spinning her off the road. Police said she was airlifted to Louisville for life threatening injuries. We've made a call to the hospital checking on Wheeler's status.

A woman and her unborn child died Saturday after she was involved in a traffic accident in Acworth.

According to the Cherokee County Sheriff's office, 26-year-old Tiffany Robbins turned her Honda Accord into the path of a truck.

Robbins, who was seven months pregnant, was conscious and alert at the scene of the accident.

She was taken to Kennestone Hospital where she and her unborn child eventually died from apparent internal injuries, according to authorities.

Webster police are investigating after an Arizona man’s rental car was struck by a freight train along Main Street this morning.

The crash occurred just before 10:30 a.m. and forced the closure of Main Street for more than an hour while the car was removed. No injuries were reported a Webster police spokesman, said today in a statement.

Ashley Nicole Bradberry was killed in the crash. Robbin Leigh Verser, 56, of Denver was driving  her SUV at 4:30 a.m. on Friday near the intersection of Vasquez Boulevard and 60th Avenue when she ran a red light and crashed into anothe SUV driven by Ashley Nicole Bradberry, 24. Bradberry was killed. Verser was seriously injured in the crash and was taken to Denver Health Medical Center for treatment, and she is facing charges of vehicular homicide, DUI, and reckless driving.

Gregory Philpot, 58, died after his motorcycle collided with a Ford Explorer driven by George Pickett, 38, in Middletown, Ohio in Butler County. The accident occured around 10:15 p.m. on October 19, 2014 on Tytus Avenue when the Explorer was driving east on Tytus and the motorcycle west on Tytus. The Explorer crossed the center line and struck the motorcycle, ejecting Philpot from the motorcycle. Philpot was not wearing a helmet at the time of the accident and died at the scene. The driver of the Explorer was not injured.
