Marvin Andrew Davis killed when his ATV strikes a creek embankment at a high rate of speed in Mecklenburg County.

A West Charlotte Man is dead after an ATV crash Saturday afternoon. Police tell us Marvin Andrew Davis died during a ride with family friends. It happened in a wooded area near Dillard Valley Road. They say Davis was riding down a grassy hill at a high rate of speed attempting to jump a creek bed when the ATV struck the embankment on the other side of the creek. Davis was thrown off the ATV. Police say Davis was wearing a helmet.
