Troopers said a person in a Ford SUV was traveling south when Patricia Ann Pruitt, 56, of Burlington, was traveling in a Kia behind it. Pruitt attempted to pass the SUV when her vehicle sideswiped a northbound Toyota and then collided head-on with another vehicle.
