Update: Troopers identify Gibsonville man killed in crash

The North Carolina Highway Patrol told WXII the driver of the vehicle was Joel Fogelman, 46, of Gibsonville. He was hospitalized with injuries not believed to be life-threatening.

A Gibsonville man died in a single-vehicle accident on Ferguson Road late Wednesday evening.

Michail Dziuma, 23, was the passenger in a 2000 Honda Accord that crashed southeast of Greensboro about 9:45 p.m., N.C. Highway Patrol troopers said.

The Accord was southbound on Ferguson Road near N.C. 62, when it ran off the right side of the road and struck a tree on the car’s right side, investigators said. Dziuma died at the scene.

An ambulance took the car’s driver, Joel Fogleman, 46, of Gibsonville to Moses Cone Hospital for treatment of injuries that were not considered life-threatening, troopers said. Fogleman remained at the hospital today.

It was unclear whether either of the men was wearing their seat belts, troopers said. Speed was not a factor in the crash, but alcohol may have been, troopers said.
