Sheriff Van Duncan said that about 10:30 p.m. a deputy observed a small, silver car going nearly 100 mph down I-26 E, and almost losing control through the construction site near the I-40 interchange.

Ketih Daryl Cambry, of Hendersonville, was traveling south on N.C. 191 after he exited Interstate 26 East, according to the Buncombe County Sheriff's Office. A deputy encountered Cambry when he passed him in a construction zone on I-26 at 10:29 p.m. When the deputy attempted to pull Cambry over, he fled.
