Fire truck responding to crash rolls off mountain

Mountain Environmental Services said they will be cleaning up a small diesel fuel spill leaking from the truck.

Emergency vehicle crashes in Carriage Park

The amount of damage to the $450,000 fire engine is currently unknown, stated Chief Hudgins with the Mountain Home Fire & Rescue Department.
It was about 8:00am when a fire truck containing four firefighters was driving from the Mountain Home Fire Department to a crash in the Carriage Park Community of Hendersonville. The truck was driving on a road that was not only steep, but covered in black ice, and slipped off of the roadway where it rolled down the mountainside, narrowly missing rolling into Lake Bowen. Brackett sustained the worst injuries, which included a broken collarbone and other internal injuries. Hodge and Tweeds have already been treated and released for more minor injuries, and a fourth person on the truck, David Jones, 39, was not injured.
