Mother and 9 month old killed in Highway 58 crash
Troopers say Alibethe Santiago, and her daughter, Abigail San Juan, were in the back seat of a pickup truck that was heading north on the highway. Both died at the scene and troopers say neither was properly restrained in the truck.
A van that was heading south crossed the centerline and struck the pickup head-on, according to the Highway Patrol.
Investigation ongoing in crash that killed mom, 9-month-old
Troopers said two other passengers in the truck, as well as the driver of the van, were injured and taken to VIdant Medical Center in Greenville. An investigation is continuing and the patrol says charges are pending.
