Arrest made in tractor-trailer accident that killed a Wilmington man

  King says the southbound lanes of Highway 17 were closed for approximately two hours while crews worked to clear the scene. Chris Williams with the State Highway Patrol said the vehicle was traveling south on Hwy 17 in the left lane. King says David Christopher Satravemis, 62, was killed instantly when he crashed into the trailer, "decapitating" the top of the vehicle. According to Brunswick County dispatch, the call came in just before 6 a.m. near Galloway Road in Bolivia. A male passenger in the vehicle suffered a non-life-threatening head injury and was transported to New Hanover Regional Medical Center. According King, Terry Maurice Baxley, 49, of White Oak was arrested and charged with misdemeanor death by motor vehicle. King says no impairment is suspected.
