According to the District Attorney's Office, Susan Tumidaj, 39, appeared before a judge in New Hanover County Superior Court on Wednesday and was sentenced to 10-13 years in prison.
Woman sentenced in NC hit-and-run moped death
A Wilmington woman has been sentenced to between 10 and 13 years in prison after pleading guilty in the hit-and-run death of a moped rider.
Albert Matthew Cox was riding a moped north on N. Third St. when he was struck by Susan Tumidaj, 39, as she was turning on to the street. Cox sustained severe injuries and passed away on January 6th. Tumidaj was taken into custody and charged with DWI, hit and run, driving with a revoked license, and failure to yield.
