Wilmington police seek car involved in hit-and-run of cyclist

WILMINGTON -- A bicyclist was recovering Monday after being struck by a car that fled the scene late Sunday. Anyone with information may call the Wilmington Police Department at 910-343-3609 or anonymously submit a tip via Text-A-Tip. The incident happened just after 11 p.m. when a silver or gray Nissan Altima struck the cyclist in the 5600 block of Oleander Drive, according to the Wilmington Police Department. The cyclist sustained serious injuries, but they do not appear to be life threatening, WPD spokeswoman Cathryn Lindsay said. The Nissan then fled the scene west on Oleander Drive.
