Mandan woman dies after car strikes walking bridge

MANDAN, N.D. (AP) - A 31-year-old Mandan woman has died in a single-vehicle accident after her car crashed into a walking bridge and burst into flames. Her car continued for several hundred yards until it struck a concrete walking bridge abutment. The Bismarck Tribune reports (http://bit.ly/1hqaqWI ) the woman was driving Friday morning in her 2006 Hyundai Sante Fe to Bismarck from Mandan. The woman died at the scene. Authorities say her car went off of Exit 161 on Interstate 94 and onto the grounds of the nearby Bohn Armory.

The Highway Patrol says 31-year-old Erin Seehafer was driving from Mandan to Bismarck the morning of Aug. 7 when her sport utility vehicle went off a curve and into the ditch, through a fence and through the grounds of a National Guard armory.
