Three killed in Carthage crash that started as a police chase

They later discovered the driver was traveling on West North Bend Road in Carthage when the car hit a parked SUV and crashed in a lawn.

The driver fled an attempted traffic stop initiated on Vine Street by an officer in neighboring Springfield Township at 12:15 a.m., Hamilton dispatchers said.

Police have not identified the men because they are still notifying their families. Lt. Steve Saunders said the driver was 36-years-old, the front passenger was 35-years-old and a backseat passenger was 21.

Police ID 3 killed in Carthage crash when vehicle fled police

Police said the Chevrolet Impala driver by Pierre crossed the center line, crashed into a parked car, flipped and came to rest after slamming into a tree around at 12:18 a.m.
