Drunken golf cart driver kills passenger in Ohio crash

The Ohio Highway Patrol says a drunken golf cart driver killed a passenger when he drove the vehicle over an embankment. The incident happened about 1:15 a.m. Saturday on Lehr Road east of Rathburn Road. The driver was westbound at an unsafe speed when he swerved off the left side of the road, the highway patrol said. Robert M. Moore, 49, of Jeromesville, was thrown from the front passenger seat. He was pronounced dead at the scene.
The victim, driver, and another passenger were all ejected from the golf cart. The driver and other passenger were driven to Wooster Community Hospital with non life-threatening injuries, the highway patrol said. According to a news release, the golf cart driver was charged with operating a vehicle under the influence, unsafe speed and failure to control.
