Karen Saeger, 55, killed, when she loses control of her car in Lake County and crashes into a large tree.

Madison Village women dies in Friday accident.

Madison Village Police Department responded to motor vehicle accident on N.Lake St in Madison Village Friday.
Madison Village Police Department responded to motor vehicle accident on N.Lake St in Madison Village Friday. Karen Saeger, 55 of Madison Village was involved in a single vehicle crash. Saeger lost control of the vehicle and went off the right side of the road, across a sidewalk, through a small ditch before striking a large tree head on. Saeger was taken to Lake Madison Emergency room where she died. The investigation is ongoing.

I was very a very good friend with Karen from 7-12 grade and kept in touch after graduation. She was depressed for a very long time , many years, along with physical problems.The last time I spoke with her was in Jan 2014 She told me how trapped in the house she was, and in a lot of physical pain. . She was at her very lowest, helpless, feeling worthless and told me several times in the conversation " I have nothing to live for" " I just can't go on. I encouraged her to get professional help. I hope this sheds some light.

Yes, she had severe back problems
I know she is at peace now.
