Five kids injured in Akron crash, mom charged with drunken driving

Taylor, who has been arrested or cited for more than 90 crimes and traffic tickets, admitted to police she had three vodka drinks before driving, court records say.
Lashawnna G. Taylor, 33, was spotted by police driving on Copley Road in Akron. She sped away, blowing through several stop signs and red lights, and police eventually called off the chase. A second officer attempted to pull Taylor over a short time later, and again Taylor fled, this time crashing into a snow bank on West Wilbeth Road near 26th Street S.W., causing her SUV to flip. Five children were in the car, including a 2-year-old who was ejected. The children range in age from 2 to 11 years old. The children, an adult passenger, and Taylor herself were all hospitalized. Taylor has been charged with five second-degree felony counts of child endangering, fourth-degree felony fleeing from police, and misdemeanor charges of drunken driving, reckless operation and driving without a valid license.
