High School Senior Killed In Crash On Route 57 In Wayne County

Dalton Local School said in a tweet that counselors will be at the High School Saturday starting at 9 a.m.

The Wayne County Schools Career Center was opened from noon to 2 p.m. offering to help students. Weikert’s Facebook page said she was studying animal care at the career center.

The Ohio Department of Transportation, Orrville police, Dalton police, Orrville fire and EMS and the Wayne County coroner all assisted the State Highway Patrol at the scene.

Sara was a member of Cornerstone Community Church in Dalton, where she was active in the youth group of the church. She enjoyed hunting and working fish frys at the Orrville Sportsmen's Club.
High school senior Sara Weikert, 18, was killed in a two-vehicle collision on Route 57 in Orrville. Weikert was driving a 2002 Dodge Stratus south on Route 57 when she crashed head-on with another car. Linford Falb, 67, of Orrville, was driving a 2010 Hyundai Elantra northbound. He was flown to Akron City Hospital. His current condition is not currently being reported. The Ohio State Highway Patrol Crash Reconstruction Unit is investigating. The cause of the collision is still under investigation.
