One man was killed and another was injured when they were ejected during a single-vehicle crash in Hardin County Wednesday morning.
One man was killed and another was injured when they were ejected during a single-vehicle crash in Hardin County Wednesday morning. Findlay troopers are investigating the crash that occurred on County Road 20 in Liberty Township in Hardin County at approximately 8:10 a.m. Troopers said the vehicle was traveling westbound on C.R. 20 when the driver lost control on the ice-covered roadway. The vehicle is said to have traveled to the right side of the road, struck a utility pole and overturned. The driver, Mark Schlachter, 20, of Ada, was not injured. The right front passenger Kyle Conaway, 27, of Ada, was ejected from the vehicle and sustained non-life threatening injuries. He was transported to Lima-Memorial Hospital. The rear passenger, Darrin Conaway, 50, of Mt. Cory, was ejected from the vehicle and pronounced dead at the scene. Investigators said seat belts were not used by any of the riders and alcohol does not appear to be a factor in the crash. The crash remains under investigation.
