Brandy R. Clary, 36, killed and Cheri L. Lutz, 43, injured in motorcycle crash on May 23 on Sugar Grove Road.

One person is dead and another is in critical condition after a crash in Fairfield County Friday. According to the Ohio State Highway Patrol, at about 6:34 p.m. Friday, troopers responded to Sugar Grove Road, just south of Hickory Hill Drive, near Berne Township on the report of a two-vehicle, head-on crash. Troopers say 36-year-old Brandy R. Clary, of Westerville, was traveling northbound on Sugar Grove Road on a 2001 Honda CB600 motorcycle, when he drove left of center at a curve in the area, and struck head on a 2004 Ford Explorer, being driven by Tabitha N. Senig, of Lancaster. Clary was taken to Fairfield Medical Center where he later died from his injuries. A passenger in Clary’s vehicle, 43-year-old Cheri L. Lutz, was also injured in the crash. She was flown by helicopter to Grant Medical Center in critical condition. Senig was not injured in the crash. According to troopers, neither Clary nor Lutz was wearing a helmet at the time of the crash and alcohol is considered a factor. The crash remains under investigation.
