Officials said 37-year-old David A. Carper was driving a silver 2000 Volkswagen Beetle northbound on US 42 when his vehicle went left of center and collided head-on with a beige 2005 GMC Canyon headed southbound, which was driven by 57-year-old Jeffrey A. Sparks, of Ostrander.
