I-70 wrong-way crash shocks drivers neighbors

“It makes no sense,” said Steve Chambliss, a neighbor of the Coleman family. “If you were going to like make a U-turn in that little passageway, that makes more sense — but to turn right, doesn’t make sense,” he said.
The driver who was killed in a wrong-way collision on I-70 had several traffic and criminal convictions, and investigators are looking into the possibility that the crash may have been intentional. Christopher A. Coleman, 35, of Xenia, drove the wrong direction in the eastbound lanes of Interstate 70 about 1:45 p.m. Tuesday. Coleman’s Mazda sedan was heading westbound when it went through an emergency turnaround into the eastbound lanes. Coleman’s vehicle crashed head-on into a tractor trailer east of the Enon Road exit. The driver of the truck, Craig Martin, 65, of Stuebenville, was uninjured. A review of court records found Coleman’s driving record is dotted with traffic violations and that he had criminal convictions. Authorities are investigating whether Coleman’s act was intentional.
