Rollover crash closes Dayton intersection

Power is out to 175 people in Dayton after a juvenile stole a vehicle and crashed it into a utility pole at Philadelphia Drive and Otterbein Avenue. Electric service is not expected to be restored to those customers until after midnight, according to DP&L Director of Operations Tom Tatham. The crash snapped the utility pole in half, and DP&L had to call in an extra crew and equipment to make repairs, Tatham said. Tatham said crews will be working to replace the pole through the evening to get the power restored. Dayton police arrested the juvenile suspect who was driving the car that crashed into the pole. That individual ran from the scene but was caught nearby within an hour after the incident.
