One person is dead and two others were injured after a crash in Ottawa County on Saturday afternoon.
Chris A. Lawley, 26, of Oak Harbor was traveling westbound on Salem Carroll Rd. James E. Swift Sr., 86, also of Oak Harbor, was northbound on Behlman Rd. and stopped at the stop sign at the Salem Carroll Rd. intersection.Swift Sr. then failed to yield and was hit by Lawley. Swift Sr's vehicle then went off the side of the roadway and rolled over. Both drivers were taken to nearby hospitals. 66-year-old Mark A. Swift, also of Oak Harbor, was a passenger in Swift Sr.'s car and was pronounced deceased at the crash site. He was not wearing his seat belt. Alcohol is believed to be a factor in the crash.
