Michael Rakes, Sr., 45, dead after rear-end collision between two trucks on Miami Street at Navarre Avenue in east Toledo, Ohio

One person is dead after two commercial vehicles collided on Monday morning on Miami Street at Navarre Avenue in East Toledo. According to police, a semi was stopped for traffic when a smaller truck slammed into the back of it, trapping the driver inside. Michael Rakes, Sr., 45, of Macomb County, Michigan was pronounced dead at the scene. One of the trucks began to leak diesel fuel, and the scene was closed to traffic for several hours while crews cleaned up. We'll update this story as more information becomes available.
