The driver of the Nissan Murano, a 37-year-old man from California, was pronounced dead at the scene. His name has not yet been released due to pending notification for next of kin.

A vehicle was driving southbound in the northbound lanes of Interstate 35 when it hit one vehicle and then a second vehicle. The driver of the southbound vehicle was identified as Pina.
