One person died after a multi-vehicle crash on the Will Rogers Turnpike near Catoosa.

California man dies in Will Rogers Turnpike crash

The rental trailer attached to the back of the vehicle began swerving, causing the vehicle to crash into a tractor-trailer rig, driven by Michael Shumny, 54, of Carthage, Mo., troopers said.
A crash occured at 10:15 a.m. in the eastbound lanes of Will Rogers Turnpike over the Verdigris River when a passenger vehicle with a trailer attached crashed into a tractor trailer. The passenger vehicle was driven by a California man, who died at the scene. His passengers were his wife, who was taken in critical condtion to St. Francis Hospital in Tulsa, and his 9-year-old son, who sustained minor injuries. Check back for updates.
