Oregon State Police continues to investigate a fatal crash Sunday afternoon along Highway 20 east of Bend that killed one man and seriously injured another.

Oregon State Police continues to investigate a fatal crash Sunday afternoon along Highway 20 east of Bend that killed one man and seriously injured another.

The accident occurred around 4:30 p.m., when a 1998 Dodge pickup driven by Matthew A. Dreyer, 35, of Star, Idaho, was negotiating a curve along westbound on Highway 20 near milepost 31. The truck traveled off the side of the highway and when Dreyer over-corrected, trying to bring it back under control, the pickup rolled repeatedly, said OSP Lieutenant Gregg Hastings.

Dreyer, who was ejected and seriously injured, was taken by ambulance to St. Charles Medical Center in Bend.

His passenger, Passenger Christopher H. Johanson, 36, of Middleton, Idaho, was partially ejected and pronounced dead at the scene, Hastings said.

Alcohol is being investigated as a contributing factor. It was also unclear whether safety restraints were in use.

Oregon State Police deputies continue to investigate a serious injury two-vehicle crash on Interstate 5 near Sutherlin Tuesday night.

Shortly before 9 p.m., a 1985 Dodge pickup, driven by 30-year-old Joseph Reitmeier, of Medford, was northbound on Interstate 5 near milepost 138 when its right rear tire blew out, said Lt. Gregg Hastings , an OSP spokesman.

A 36-year-old Bend woman was seriously injured Wednesday in a rollover crash in icy conditions on Highway 197 south of Maupin.

The accident happened right before 8 a.m. near milepost 40, according to Oregon State Police. They said Lanette L. Keller was driving a 2002 Ford pickup north on Highway 197 when she tried to pass another vehicle and lost control on black ice. The pickup slid toward the shoulder and rolled several times though a fence. The pickup came to rest on the hood, with Keller trapped inside.

Just after 6 a.m. on Friday, a crash on State Road 67 near County Road 700 West claimed one life and injured another.

Officials report a 2005 Dodge van driven by Dakota L. Burnette, 26 of Oolitic, was traveling southwest on S.R. 67 as a semi driven by Timothy D. Stines, 44 of Bedford, was traveling northeast.

For unknown reasons, Burnette crossed the center line and sideswiped the semi. The van then spun partially off the highway as the semi came to a stop partially blocking the southbound lane of S.R. 67.

A woman was killed Tuesday afternoon when her car was struck by a BNSF train in Bonner County, Idaho, a BNSF spokesman said.

The woman, who wasn’t identified, pulled in front of the engine at a railroad crossing at Heath Lake Road, near Sagle at 4:22 p.m.

The intersection was marked with railroad crossing signs and stop signs, and the train sounded its whistle, BNSF said. The train was traveling at 59 miles per hour.

None of the train’s crew was injured in the crash. The train, which was traveling from Portland to Chicago, continued on its route about 8 p.m.

A Moscow, Idaho, woman was killed Saturday night when she lost control of her car on an icy road south of Worley and crossed into the path of an oncoming vehicle.

Donna L. Lefors, 85, died in the accident on U.S. 95 just after 8 p.m., the Idaho State Police said.

Lefors was traveling southbound on the highway and crossed into the northbound lane, where her car was struck by Florencio S. Espana, 46, of Worley. Espana was injured and taken to Kootenai Health in Coeur d’Alene.

State police say two men died and a 19-year-old woman was seriously injured in a rollover crash near the Lane County community of Noti.

Lt. Gregg Hastings says the Kia Sephia driven by 23-year-old Raymond Wyman of Noti traveled off Poodle Creek Road late Friday and struck several trees after rolling multiple times.

Wyman died at a hospital and a passenger -- 41-year-old Christopher Manley of Veneta -- died at the scene.

The driver's girlfriend, Jessica Parker of Noti, was taken by ambulance to a Springfield hospital, where she was treated for serious injuries.

Officers found Howard’s truck abandoned after a crash and spotted foot prints leading away from the scene. The sheriff’s department says officers searching the area found Howard’s body along U.S. 30 near Grovertown.
