3 dead in C. Ore. crash; driver was eluding police

BEND, Ore. (AP) - Oregon State Police say three people died when a driver eluding sheriff's deputies collided head-on with another vehicle. She quickly added: "He just hit somebody head-on, and we have flames!" A few minutes later, another officer said: "He's going to hit somebody head-on!"  KTVZ reports that information from a police scanner indicates a deputy started pursuing a pickup at about 8:40 p.m.
