1 dead, 2 hurt in Columbia County crash

ST. HELENS, Ore. -- One person died, his passenger and the driver of a second vehicle injured in a crash late Sunday afternoon in Columbia County. Conditions were not available though the truck driver was expected to survive his injuries. His female passenger and the driver of the truck were both trapped and had to be removed with special equipment. The truck driver was taken there by ambulance. When emergency crews arrived, the driver of the Chevrolet Impala, William D. Nagel, 42, of Scappoose, was already dead.
