Woman hit by car, killed trying to cross I-84

THE DALLES, Ore. -- A pedestrian was struck by a car and killed when she attempted to cross the eastbound lanes of I-84 near The Dalles Friday, police said. Troopers said a Honda Civic traveling eastbound hit Spino. The accident happened near milepost 85, on I-84, just after 3 p.m. Investigators also said there were indications that Spino may have been drinking before the accident, which likely contributed to the crash. I-84 was completely closed for approximately one hour and traffic was diverted through the city of The Dalles.
