Police have identified the 81-year-old man who was seriously injured in a crash on Highway 20 near Lebanon Thursday afternoon.

Samuel Slaughter of Sweet Home suffered serious injuries in a crash involving a commercial truck pulling a semi trailer and a car. Oregon State Police said at about 1 p.m. a commercial truck pulling a semi-trailer stopped on westbound Highway 20 to wait for train to pass by so the driver could turn into a driveway.
A 2008 Chevrolet Impala, driven by Slaughter, crashed into the back of the semi-trailer. The car was lodged underneath the trailer, and Slaughter was extricated and taken to the hospital. Authorities do not know why the Chevrolet driver crashed into the trailer.
Oregon State Police are continuing to investigate the crash.
