Police: Hit-and-run injures Portland man; DUII suspect arrested

A 21-year-old Portland man was seriously injured in a hit-and-run crash early Sunday morning and police said they arrested the driver.

A witness led police to an apartment complex just west of 30th and Steele, where the silver Volkswagen Beetle was parked in the lot. The vehicle had extensive front-end damage.

Hit and Run Seriously Injures Pedestrian in Reed Neighborhood of Southeast Portland - Driver Arrested

Officers and medical personnel arrived and located 21-year-old Jordan Jackson, a resident of Southeast Portland, down in the street suffering from serious injuries. Witnesses described seeing a silver Volkswagen Beetle strike Jackson then flee the scene westbound on Steele. 

Jordan Jackson was struck by a car near the intersection of Southeast 30th Avenue and Steele Street early Sunday morning, and he sustained serious injuries that he is expected to survive. Witnesses described the car that hit him to Police and they were able to track down the suspected driver, 27-year-old Ariel Neuman, at a nearby apartment complex. She was taken into custody where she faces charges including 3rd degree assault, felony hit-and-run and DUI.
