Pedestrian struck, killed in NE Portland

A pedestrian was struck by a vehicle and killed at a Northeast Portland intersection Monday morning. Police were called just after 9 a.m. to the report that a man was struck at Northeast 82nd Avenue and Glisan Street. A witness at the scene was performing CPR on the man when emergency crews arrived, said Portland police Sgt. The man was taken to a Portland hospital, where he died from injuries suffered in the crash.

Police said Edgar Caceres, 60, crossed 82nd avenue against a "don't walk" sign before he was hit.

A witness at the scene was performing CPR on Caceres when emergency crews arrived, said Portland police Sgt. Pete Simpson.
