The teen is a freshman at Roosevelt High School. Tuesday is the first day of school for Roosevelt.
Due to the severity of his injuries, a major crash team was called to investigate.
Police were called just after 7:45 to the crash on North Columbia Boulevard and Midway Avenue.
Portland teen hit by pickup identified
Officers and medical personnel at the scene found the teen suffering from serious injuries. Witnesses said the boy was unconscious after the crash and they covered him with a blanket.
