An individual walking in the middle of Cordon Road was struck near the intersection with Carolina Avenue NE this morning according to a statement by Lt. Chris Baldridge, a Marion County Sheriff's Office spokesman.

Baxter Harrell, 51 of Aumsville, was walking in the middle of Cordon Road NE shortly before 5 a.m. Tuesday when he was struck by a driver heading into work, said Lt. Chris Baldridge, a Marion County Sheriff's Office spokesman.
