A Carlisle man was killed Wednesday morning in Franklin Township when a pickup truck hit him while he was standing on the side of the road, the York County Deputy coroner said. Connor Scott Waterfield, 21, of Shugart Road, was pronounced dead at the scene of the collision on Twin Hills Road near May Drive. The incident has been ruled accidental, Cosey said. Waterfield had stopped after his 2003 GMC pickup truck had become stuck in a ditch after sliding off the roadway, according to Northern York County Regional Police. There was heavy fog and low visibility at the time of the crash, police said. The vehicle that struck Waterfield was a 2001 Nissan pickup truck. It was driven by Mark Hanusa, 28, of Franklin Township. Hanusa was travelling southbound on Twin Hills Road and collided with Waterfield and his disabled pickup truck.
