Two northern Dauphin County residents were severely injured in a car crash Sunday morning. State police said a car driven by Aaron Lee Esch, 24, backed out of a driveway along Route 225 in Mifflin Township and was facing south while in the northbound lane. According to police, Esch, of Dornsife, tried to merge into the southbound lane but turned in front of a southbound vehicle which collided with the passenger side of his vehicle. Both vehicles then hit a utility pole, resulting in downed power lines. Esch and a 17-year-old boy who lives in Lykens were flown by LifeLion to Penn State Milton S. Hershey Medical Center with what state police called “severe injuries.” A medical center spokeswoman on Sunday night said Esch was in fair condition. The condition of the 17-year-old couldn’t be determined because police didn’t reveal his name because he’s a minor. Police said Esch and the teen weren’t wearing seat belts. The driver of the second vehicle, Lyndon B. Mink of Moutoursville wasn’t injured. The accident happened at 8:48 a.m. at the intersection of Route 225 and Shippen Dam Road. State police did a reconstruction of the accident
