The crash happened about 10 miles from the exit for Penn State University.

Both were wearing seat belts at the time. The coroner is ruling their death an accident.

The crash happened about 10 miles from the exit for Penn State University.
A New York couple died in a chain-reaction crash on Interstate 80 in central Pennsylvania Saturday. Joann and Frank Brodzik's Volvo was crushed between a tractor trailer and a truck near the Centre-Clinton county line. Law enforcement officers say the driver of the fast-moving Peterbilt tractor-trailer failed to notice traffic was stopping and smashed into the Brodziks' car. The impact sent the couple's Volvo into the back of a Freightliner tractor-trailer. The 59-year-old Joann Brodzik and 64-year-old Frank Brodzik were pronounced deceased at the crash scene.

I am so sorry to hear that. My deepest condolences to the family of the deceased. I travel that highway plenty of times. It was also icey rain .Accidents on the other roads on 322 and 99 in Centre county , Pa .

Frank was a friend to my brother and I while growing up in East Meadow. I shared a house with Frank in 1976. We all were good buddies. Just found out about this 10 months later.
