Easton bicyclist cited after running red light before being struck by minivan in Palmer Township, police say

Joshua Kulak, 28, of the 100 block of South 14th Street, was headed west on Northampton Street approaching  Wood Avenue at 9:38 p.m. when he turned to look toward a sound behind him, township police say. Before Kulak could turn around, he said he was struck by a vehicle heading into the intersection from Wood Avenue, according to a police report.

The driver of the van reported never having seen Kulak until he was thrown to the hood of her Honda Odyssey. The rider, Joshua Kulak, told police the traffic light was red when he entered the intersection. He was taken to Easton Hospital as a precaution although police say he was able to walk after the crash and appeared to have only suffered minor injuries.
