A 24-year-old woman was killed after a fatal hit-and-run in Chester, Delaware County, on Tuesday morning, police said. Chester Police are asking for the public's help in locating the driver. The victim, a Boothwyn resident, was walking in the area of 9th and Hayes Streets around 7:30 a.m. The vehicle that hit her was described as a black Nissan sedan, with heavy front-end damage. It was last seen going east on West 9th Street at a high rate of speed.

Delaware County officials announced Friday a man has been arrested in connection with a deadly hit-and-run that happened earlier this week in Chester.Delaware County District Attorney Jack Whelan says Braheem Scott was behind the wheel of black Nissan that hit a woman Tuesday morning at the intersection of 9th and Hayes streets and kept going.The victim was 24-year-old Marion Bennett from Boothwyn, Pennsylvania.She was pronounced dead at the scene.Police found the vehicle they believed was involved less than an hour after the incident."It was so devastating and so forceful that it knocked her boots and actually her socks off of her body," said Whelan.Scott did make a statement, police say, admitting he hit the victim and left the scene.He has been charged with homicide by vehicle, involuntary manslaughter and other offenses.

CHESTER, Pa., (CBS) — Officials say a man has surrendered to Delaware County authorities in connection with Tuesday’s morning’s fatal hit-and-run accident. Delaware County District Attorney Jack Whelan says Braheem Scott turned himself into Chester City police Thursday night. Whelan says Scott had an argument with his girlfriend that morning, jumped into his vehicle barely cleared his windshield, and sped up the street, allegedly striking 24-year-old Mary Ann Bennett.
